We typically stayed at the Grand America for years and years, but when they were booked up we tried Le Meridien and have been staying there for the last two years. I was a little worried about the location not being as good as the Grand, but I stand corrected - this location is actually way better from a walkability and driving standpoint both. The rooms are very quiet - we were next to the elevator on one of our stays and I couldn't hear it at all. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The parking garage is really nice too. Some of the hotels in SLC do not have any parking, so that is important for us as we drive in most times.
The hotel was fine but don’t let the rooftop pool be the reason for your stay. It’s tiny and there are only three lounge chairs. We were looking forward to laying by the pool and reading but we had to sit on the cement. When we were in the pool, we were confined to the side of the pool because three teenage boys were playing catch down the middle of the little pool. A big disappoint for a girls weekend.
I stayed at Le Meridien in Salt Lake for a business trip and meeting. The rooms are extremely comfortable and roomy! The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and took great care of us during our meeting/conference! Would highly recommend as a meeting venue. I was originally given a room lower and facing a major street. Angelica at the front desk was extremely attentive to my concern about the noise from the street, and moved me to a room that was extremely quiet and a few floors higher. This was much appreciated and she was extremely pleasant to work with.
Such a nice, clean, brand new hotel! Staff is so helpful and the heated rooftop pool was amazing. Rooftop bar is also really nice. My two complaints are the lack of insulation between walls, and sliding bathroom doors. We were basically able to hear everything in our neighbors’ rooms and in the hallways, even if they were talking quietly. I think it’s such a bad choice on behalf of so many new construction buildings to opt out of… any soundproofing between rooms? And unless they go through the trouble of adding insulation after everything’s been done, the building will basically have no privacy for its whole lifetime. Insulation isn’t even that expensive, so minus one star for that and the bathroom doors, but overall a really nice hotel.
